85 kilometres of hiking trail with a unique level of diversity - welcome to the Habichtswaldsteig. This tour through the Habichtswald nature reserve begins on the Marktplatz square in the town of Zierenberg. The silhouette of a hawk's head is your constant companion along the trail and ensures that everyone reaches their destination of Lake Edersee. Along the way you will find plenty of sights and viewpoints, lining up like pearls on a chain. You can enjoy expansive views of the magnificent countryside from the 580-metre summits. Cultural and historical treasures can also be found along the route. The Habichtswaldsteig connects Wilhelmshöhe Mountain Park with Kellerwald-Edersee National Park − two UNESCO World Heritage Sites - a quite extraordinary feat.
