The 80-kilometre Milseburgweg trail is a true highlight for walkers. The red triangle denoting the route can be found at Fulda train station. A stroll through the renowned cathedral city is a wonderful way to get yourself in the mood for the picturesque views that you will enjoy on your walks through the Rhön. In addition to the cathedral, the Liobakirche church on the nearby Petersberg is home to some art-historical treasures. Climbing the 835-metre Milseburg is an impressive experience; the view from the top over the Kuppenrhön hills is unbeatable. The fascinating basalt cones never cease to amaze with their unspoilt views, castle ruins and chapels. Centuries-old cultural landscapes with traditional villages pop up in between. This is an enchanting landscape, and its untouched nature will make a great impression on you whatever the season. The walk ends at the train station in the Thuringian town of Meiningen.
