Cycling up and down the gentle slopes through the vineyards or on flat stretches along the Rhine – cyclists can get active in the cultural region of the Rheingau. Besides its unique views and romantic vineyards, the region also offers numerous places to stop for a rest. The most paved routes in the Rheingau include the Hessen long-distance route R3, the Rheinradweg and the Mainradweg. Numerous hotels and other types of accommodation in the Rheingau bear the “Bett+Bike” (Bed+Bike) quality seal, indicating that they welcome cyclists.

The R3 follows in the footsteps of the episcopal grape courier from Fulda - from the vineyards in the Rheingau to the Rhön.
