ESOC – European Space Operation Centre Darmstadt

Darmstadt has been home to the European Space Operation Centre (ESOC) since 1967, earning its tagline as “Europe’s gateway to space”. All satellite missions undertaken by the European Space Agency (ESA) and five ground stations are controlled and monitored from this site. Over 60 satellites have so far been controlled from Darmstadt, including Mars Express and Rosetta.
