A land of experiences

Enter a world of enjoyment.

As part of of the COVID-19 relaxation measures, many of our tourism partners in Hessen are now open to the public again. Cultural institutions such as zoos and botanical gardens have reopened, as have recreational areas such as playgrounds, indoor climbing centres, gyms and bowling alleys.

As of Monday 15 June 2020, swimming pools, saunas and thermal baths reopened subject to hygiene and social distancing rules. A variety of cultural events are now allowed to take place, including open air theatre, open-air/drive-in cinema screenings and some indoor theatre, dance and music performances. Guided city tours are also resuming. However, nightclubs remain closed and events such as wine and street festivals as well as concerts for large audiences are still prohibited.

Please note that masks covering the nose and mouth are now mandatory in Hessen's train stations and airports as well as on all public transport. Please check the English-language Deutsche Bahn website for further information about travelling by train.

You can find up-to-date information regarding the coronavirus situation in Germany in English on the Robert Koch Institute website. Hessen-specific information is available in German on the Hessen State Government website.
