Ederhöhenpfad

Forested mountains line up in subtle curves, traditional villages nestle in green valleys and the meandering Eder flows through it all. It is always a great and invigorating experience to walk along a river. The Ederhöhenpfad begins on the edge of Beddelhausen, close to the border with North Rhine-Westphalia, and is marked with a white E with a blue swipe. The Eder - one of the cleanest rivers in Germany - is always close by. At times, you follow the course of the river as you overlook the valley, then you once again meet it at eye level. Historic sites and ruins line up along the left and right banks of the river, and you can sample delicious regional specialities on market days in the historical old town of Frankenberg. The Ederhöhenpfad trail ends in the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park, where it meets the Urwaldsteig Edersee.
