245 kilometres of leisurely cycling through Hessen: this is thanks to the BahnRadweg, which connects the most picturesque cycle routes along former railway lines in Hessen. It makes central mountain landscapes easily accessible to leisurely cyclists - from the Vogelsberg to the Rhön and the Spessart, which then takes you to the Rhine-Main valleys. It crosses state borders and can take you from Bad Hersfeld or through the Ulster Valley to Thuringia. There are plenty of options to combine the BahnRadweg Hessen with the Werra Valley cycle route, the Fulda cycle route and the Mittelland route within the network of "Germany cycle routes". It is distinguished by its high standard of paths, which allow for relaxing, family-friendly tours.
